Facade work will spruce up North Main stores

Link to March 29 Oshkosh Northwestern article.

Excerpt: The push for the façade program came on the heels of last year's filming of "Public Enemies," where many storefronts downtown took on 1930s facades. The Universal Pictures film, starring Johnny Depp and Christian Bale, is based on gangster John Dillinger and producers looked for cities with areas that could easily be transformed to the 1930s when Dillinger's crime spree took place.

Restoration grants could be used to strip paint off buildings, replace awnings, install signs similar to those erected for "Public Enemies," change doors and windows and remove false fronts.
